Knob and tube wiring is an older electrical system commonly installed before the 1950s. Individual conductors run through a home using ceramic knobs for support and ceramic tubes where wires pass through wooden framing.
Original knob and tube circuits generally lack an equipment grounding conductor. Ageing insulation, overloaded circuits and improper alterations can create safety concerns, especially when a home's electrical demands have increased.
We inspect the existing circuits, identify areas that require attention and explain the replacement process. When knob and tube removal is necessary, we plan new cable routes, replace the affected wiring and arrange the required ESA inspection.
